BRONX, N.Y. — Fordham University senior defender Joergen Oland who was named a third team All-Southeast Region by the United Soccer Coaches, it was announced Monday.

It was the third consecutive year that Oland has been an All-Region selection.

Oland repeated as the Atlantic 10’s defensive player of the year, joining Anthony Manning (Saint Louis University – 2013 and 2014) and Patrick Hannigan (Temple University – 2003 and 2004) as the only players to win the award twice, as well as in consecutive years. Oland’s award marked the third successive year that a Fordham player was named defensive player of the year, which began with Matthew Lewis in 2017, and the fourth time overall (Ryan Meara – 2011).

A two-time first team All-Atlantic 10 performer, Oland led the Rams defense to a 1.08 goals-against average and seven shutouts. He added four goals and one assist for nine points, good for second on the team in goals and points.

Oland was one of ten Atlantic 10 players honored by United Soccer Coaches. Regions are broken up by conferences with the Southeast Region having players from the Atlantic 10 Conference, Conference USA, and Sun Belt Conference.
