HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. — Hofstra University junior forward Matthew Vowinkel was named to the United Soccer Coaches Association All-Atlantic Region second team Monday as the organization unveiled its all-star teams for all eight regions.

Vowinkel, who hails from New Hyde Park, N.Y., earned his first United Soccer Coaches All-Region accolade.

He led the Pride with 13 goals and 28 points. Vowinkel closed the season on a tear with nine goals and an assist in the final six games. The 13 goals and 28 points were career highs and the 13 goals were the most for a Pride player since 2005.

Vowinkel, who was a first team All-Colonial Athletic Association selection, ranked second in the conference in goals scored and points.

Hofstra finished with a 10-6-3 record.
