BRONX – Fordham University men’s head coach Carlo Acquista Tuesday announced the addition of four players for the 2020 season in the early signing period.

The Rams have added Sebastian Fabrin (Hellerup, Denmark/Øregård Gymnasium), Galen Flynn (West Hartford, Conn./Kingswood Oxford), Max Rogers (Sydney, Australia/St. Ignatius College) and Gianluca Sciortino (Maple, Ontario/St. Joan of Arc).

“We are really excited to announce our early signings for the 2020 class,” Acquista said. “This group of young men will play a big role this fall and beyond. We believe this new crop of young talent possess the attributes essential to build upon our strong team culture accomplished this past year.”

Fabrin, a 6-1 defender, has played for teams in Denmark (Hellerup Idræts Klub and FC Copenhagen) and Sweden (FC Djursholm and Djurgården IF FF). He served as team captain for Djurgården IF FF U17 in 2017, while living in Sweden and was a nominee for the Swedish Under-17 national team. He also played with the Swedish national tistrict U-17 team, helping the squad to a Swedish national championship in 2017. Most recently, Fabrin was a Regional Cup Champion with FC Copenhagen U-19 in 2019. He attended Øregård Gymnasium and was a member of the high honor roll.

Flynn, a 5-11 defender, attended Kingswood Oxford for high school and played for the Oakwood Soccer Club. He was a part of the U-17 team that made the playoffs, while his U-19 team made the final 32 in the 2019 DA Cup.

Rogers, a 5-10 midfielder, was a multi-sport athlete at St. Ignatius College in Sydney, competing in soccer and cricket. He was an all-league performer in both sports in 2018 as well as All-Region in soccer. In 2019, he served as team captain of the soccer squad, earning All-Australian, all-state, all-region and all-league accolades after netting 10 goals and five assists in seven games. For club soccer, he has competed for the Central Coast Mariners and Manly United in the National Premier League and National Youth League (U-23 A-League). Rogers is a Arrupe Leadership Academy graduate.

Sciortino, a 5-10 midfielder, was a four-year player at St. Joan of Arc High School, where he was a multiple-time team captain and MVP. He finished as the district’s leading goal-scorer in 2017 and 2018 and helped the team to a district championship in 2018. At the club level, he competed for Vaughan SC, winning the 2019 U-21 Ontario Cup and League One Cup and was selected to the Ontario Provincial/League One all-star team. Sciortino has also been a York9 regional selection, a member of the 2018 Ontario Provincial Team and an invitee to the Canadian National Team Camp. In the classroom, he is a multiple-time member of the honor roll.
