New York City FC has announced its team award winners for the past Major League Soccer season.

Maxi Moralez, MVP

The Argentine midfielder was selected to the MLS all-star team and became the third player in MLS history to record 20 assists.

He added seven goals in his 29 regular season appearances and became the second NYCFC player named to the MLS Best XI team.

Moralez was named MLS player of the month for June as he recorded three goals and six assists.

Hèber – Newcomer of the year

The Brazilian striker finished his debut season as the team’s top scorer, netting 15 times in 22 appearances after signing from HNK Rijeka in March.

Héber also became the first NYCFC player to score in five consecutive games.

He finished second for MLS newcomer of the year.

Maxime Chanot – Defender of the year

The Luxembourg international played 2,790 minutes. starting and appearing in 31 regular season matches.

His performances at the heart of the defense helped lead the team to a first-place finish in the Eastern Conference and secured Concacaf Champions League qualification for the first time in club history.
