Major League Soccer and adidas Sunday revealed the official match ball for the league’s 25th season, the 2020 MLS NATIVO XXV.

Constructed with enhanced materials and tested by some of the world’s top players, this re-imagined NATIVO pulls inspiration from the first MLS ball in 1996 to celebrate the 25th MLS season and kickoff a new decade of soccer in North America. The ball will go on sale online and in stores Jan. 2, 2020.

Incorporating colors from the original MLS ball and identity, the NATIVO design is inspired by the past but built for the future. The ball is made of 100 percent water-based materials and print colors yielding the most sustainable design to date.

The bold designs feature on a ball that offers the same high-performance structure and panels as recent World Cup models, but with a unique material, which is expected to allow for better visibility on the pitch for players.

The new MLS NATIVO XXV is one of the many ways MLS’ will celebrate its milestone year. In the coming months, MLS will unveil a series of initiatives to celebrate 25 years and to kick off a new decade of soccer in North America.
