ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Lancers Thursday continued to add roster depth to their roster for the Major Arena Soccer League as they signed goalkeeper Christian Esposito and midfielder Matt D’Amico.

As per league and team policies, no further terms of the agreement were disclosed.

“I am excited to sign Esposito as he brings some MASL experience and has been in camp with Utica in years past. He is quick on his feet and is looking to make his mark with the Lancers,” Lancers head coach Doug Miller said. “D’Amico is another local product who played at Geneseo College. He brings speed, grit, hard work and will make an impact immediately. I am looking forward to educating him about the indoor game as he has many of the tools to be successful in this craft.”

Born and raised in Alplaus, N.Y., Esposito attended Niskayuna High School and was named defensive player of the year his senior season. He played at Saint Rose College, earning NE-10 defensive player of the week honors as well as a spot on the NE-10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

After college Esposito went on to play in the UPSL for Super 9, which won the American Division. Last indoor season, Esposito landed a contract with Utica City FC. During the off season, the 25-year-old keeper moved to Rochester.

Born and raised in Rochester, 24-year-old D’Amico attended Pittsford-Mendon High School. He was a first team All-state player, all-regional player and All-Greater Rochester Player while scoring 24 goals his senior year.

D’Amico went on to play college at SUNY Geneseo, earning All SUNYAC honors twice and East regional honors. He scored a total of 20 goals during his junior and senior years. D’Amico played at Geneseo under then assistant coach and former Lancers assistant coach Billy Ginther. He spends much of his spare time teaching and coaching youth soccer players in the Rochester area.
