HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Junior forward Sabrina Bryan scored twice as the top-seeded Hofstra University women downed fifth-seeded Elon, 3-1, in the Colonial Athletic Association semifinals at the Hofstra Soccer Stadium Sunday afternoon.

Hofstra advanced to the CAA title match for the third consecutive time.

The hosts extended their unbeaten streak to 14 games, the longest since a similar streak in 2017.

It was all Pride, all day long as Hofstra held a 26-4 advantage. The Pride owned a 15-1 margin in opportunities by the midway point and did not allow an Elon shot on target until the 75th minute.

Bryan put the Pride on the scoreboard 2:43 into game action as she created her own opportunity just outside the 18-yard box and used her dominant left foot to send a shot to the back-right post.

Hofstra continued to pile on chances, outshooting the Phoenix 12-0 over the next 35 minutes before freshman Anja Suttner gained possession off an Elon clearance from a Pride corner kick and sent home a rocket for the third goal of her rookie campaign.

The hosts made it a three-goal contest in the 76th minute when junior Amanda Ebbesson dribbled up the right sideline from the midfield and sent a cross in the box to Bryan, who volleyed in her shot past goalkeeper Katrin Hauksdottir for her ninth goal this season.

Bryan, who has 24 goals, moved into ninth place all-time at Hofstra, tied with Laura Greene (2008-11). She needs two more to tie for eighth with Elyse Bizzozzaro (2000-04)

Carson Jones scored Elon’s lone goal of the match in the 79th minute of action.

Hofstra is set to face the sixth-seeded James Madison Dukes in the CAA title match for the second year ina row. The match is set for the Hofstra Soccer Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m.
