The Cosmos’ quest for the NPSL Members Cup crown is over.

Detroit City FC (8-0-1, 25 points) clinched the title with a 1-0 home victory over Michigan Stars FC at Ultimate Sports Arenas in Pontiac, Mich. Wednesday night.

Yazeed Matthews tallied the lone goal of the match in the 67th minute for Detroit, which extended its unbeaten streak to 23 matches back through the National Premier Soccer League season during the summer.

The Cosmos (6-1-2, 20) will conclude their regular season at Napa Valley 1839 FC Saturday at 10 p.m.

Detroit City FC’s season finale will be at home against the Milwaukee Torrent Saturday night.
