HARRISON, N.J. – Red Bulls defender Amro Tarek will be sidelined 4-6 weeks as he recovers from an ankle injury. Depending on how far the Red Bulls will go in the postseason, that could mean the entire MLS Cup Playoffs.
The injury gives the Red Bulls less cover at center back.
Tarek underwent successful minor ankle surgery last week at the Hospital for Special Surgery.
He suffered the injury during the Red Bulls match at Seattle Sounders FC Sept. 15.
The 27-year-old Tarek has made 20 appearances this season, including 19 starts. He has a goal and assist.
