FRISCO, Texas — Anton Tinnerholm’s availability for Wednesday night’s vital home clash with Atlanta United is in limbo in the wake of the New York City FC defender’s concussion suffered in the 1-1 draw with FC Dallas.

Tinnerholm was forced to exit from the game at Toyota Stadium Sunday night after cracking heads with FC Dallas’ Brandon Servania in the 14th minute. Tony Rocha replaced the right back in the 23rd minute. Servania also was removed in the 28th minute as Paxton Pomykal came on for him.

When asked about Tinnerholm’s status, City head coach Dome Torrent replied, “I don’t know, we have a team doctor in New York. I am not sure what happens when you have a concussion.”

Tinnerholm, who set up Valentin Castellanos’ goal some 40 seconds into the match, has been one of NYCFC’s top performers this season behind the ball and getting forward.

“Right now, he told me he felt really well,” Torrent said. “In that moment both players said they were ok to play. The ref stopped the game and they had to change. But he told he was good and then had to come off 15 minutes later just like the FC Dallas player. I don’t know what will happen and we will take test when we come back to New York.”
