PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Sky Blue FC came back down to earth with a thud as it dropped a 3-0 decision to the Chicago Red Stars in the National Women’s Soccer League at Yurcak Field Sunday night.

Australian international Sam Kerr, a former member of the New Jersey, side, led the way with a goal and an assist. Morgan Brian and Yuki Nagasato added goals against Sky Blue (4-14-4).

Chicago scored its first goal in the 31st minute. Brian collected a pass and sent it to Kerr on the left side of the 18-yard box. Kerr crossed it back through the center of the box to an unmarked Brian, who fired it home.

Kerr connected in the 33rd minute to put Chicago up 2-0. Nagasato threaded a ball to Kerr, who sent her shot low just under goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan’s attempted kick save.

The final goal of the night came in the 80th minute. Midfielder Zoey Goralski slipped a pass to Nagasato at the top of the 18-yard box as the latter sent the shot to the upper right-hand corner.

Sky Blue FC returns home for its final home game of the season against the Orlando Pride Sept. 29.
