MONTCLAIR, N.J. — Midfielder Jared Stroud scored one goal and set up another to pace Red Bull II to a 2-0 victory over the Charlotte Independence in USL Championship action at MSU Soccer Park Friday night.

Red Bull II, which tied its home win record of 11 games in a season, improved to 17-6-5 and 56 points and Charlotte (26) dropped to 5-13-11.

Mathias Jørgensen opened the scoring in the 15th minute, slotting home his ninth goal of the season.

Stroud became the first player in NYRB II history to record 20 career goals and 20 assists at the club. Stroud scored his 13th goal of the season in the 83rd minute to seal the victory after assisting in the opener.

Goalkeeper Evan Louro finished with three saves, recording his fifth clean sheet.

Chris Lema registered his seventh assist of 2019 by putting Stroud in position to score the second goal.

Red Bull II will embark on a two-game road trip with stops in Saint Louis and Louisville.
