QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John’s University women made an addition to its roster, securing a commitment from LIU Post transfer Samantha Gordon, it was announced Monday.

Gordon enrolled at the school this semester and is eligible to play for the Red Storm immediately.

During her two seasons with the Pioneers, Gordon started all 43 matches in which she played. The Amityville, N.Y. native registered eight goals for 16 points during her two Post campaigns.

She is coming off a sophomore season that saw her tally a career-high seven goals, including the game-winner in a 1-0 victory at Stonehill.

Gordon was a first team United Soccer Coaches All-East Region honoree and garnered second team All-ECC accolades.

As a freshman, Gordon started in all 22 games. She closed out her rookie campaign with a goal in the Pioneers’ win over Roberts Wesleyan.

Prior to enrolling at LIU Post, the 5-9 defender was a three-year varsity standout at St. Anthony’s High School, where she earned All-League honors during her senior season. Gordon also helped the Friars to a league and state title in 2014 and 2015.
