RICHMOND, Va. – Hofstra University junior midfielder Lucy Porter was selected as the Colonial Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 1, the league announced Monday.

Porter beame the first Pride player this season to receive a weekly honor from the CAA.

In a 1-1 week for the Hofstra, Porter was stellar against Fordham University in the Pride’s home opener last Sunday, elevating Hofstra to a 6-1 victory. She tied a Hofstra program record with four goals, including a hat-trick in the first half. Her first goal came 20 minutes in off a penalty kick.

She flicked in a header goal four minutes later. Porter increased the Hofstra lead to 4-1 with another penalty kick in the 41st minute, before she struck again in the 63rd minute.

Porter leads the CAA with five goals, an average of 1.25 per game, which is the best in the league. She paces all CAA players with 10 points and 2.50 points per game.

Hofstra will return to the pitch against Rutgers University in Piscataway, N.J. Thursday.
