ELBASAN, Albania – Former Fordham University player Kristina Maksuti has begun another chapter in her post-college career as a part of the Albanian national team.

Maksuti and the rest of the national side begin the qualifying round of the UEFA 2021 Women’s Euro Cup Monday at Elbasan Arena in Albania, taking on Finland in the opener.

Albania is in Group E, along with Finland, Portugal, Scotland, and Cyprus. Each team plays against each other twice in qualifying.

A former two-time captain and a 2015 graduate, Maksuti was an Atlantic 10 All-Rookie and All-Conference performer and remains one of Fordham’s most prolific goal-scorers. She ranked fourth all-time at Rose Hill with 24 goals and 59 points, while her 11 assists are tied for ninth in program history.
