One midfielder has left the Cosmos while another has left the team.

Former ASC San Diego midfielder Michael Kafari Wednesday signed with the NPSL Members Cup team.

He obviously impressed the Cosmos well enough the National Premier Soccer League semifinal match, which New York won.

On the flip side, former Long Island University standout Naeem Charles left the team.

The 27-year-old Kafari played in the North American Soccer League with Puerto Rico FC, where he made 32 appearances. He also spent time in Sweden with Motala, where he scored in the Svenska Cupen.

“We are excited and pleased to add Michael to the roster for the remainder of the season,” Cosmos head coach Carlos Mendes said. “He’s a proven professional who will add depth to the midfield and brings a strong mentality to push our level.”

The Cosmos will play at the Michigan Stars Saturday at 7 p.m. They return home to host Napa Valley 1839 FC at Mitchel Athletic Complex in Uniondale Saturday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m.
