MONTCLAIR, N.J. — Red Bull II could not hold onto a one-goal lead at home and suffered a 2-1 defeat to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in a USL Championship match at MSU Soccer Park Wednesday night.

NYRBII (47 points) fell to 14-5-5 while Pittsburgh (41) improved to 11-8-3.

Tom Barlow opened the scoring in the 20th minute, connecting for his 11th goal of the year. Vincent Bezecourt earned the assist, slipping a pass through the backline.

The visitors leveled in the 36th minute as Joe Greenspan knocked in a corner attempt by Kenardo Forbes.

The Riverhounds grabbed the lead in the 84th minute as Neco Brett converted an Anthony Velarde pass.

Red Bull II begins a three-game road trip next Wednesday, taking on Nashville SC at 8 p.m. After road contests against the Swope Park Rangers and Indy Eleven, NYRB II returns home to host the Charlotte Independence Sept. 13 at 7 p.m.
