Hofstra University midfielder Lucy Porter was named to the 2019 Women’s Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann Trophy Watch List.
The MAC Hermann Trophy is the most prestigious individual award in college soccer and is presented annually to the most outstanding male and female players of the year.
Porter, who is entering her junior season, collected several accolades last season as she was selected to the USC All-East Region First Team, Colonial Athletic Association First Team, and All-ECAC team. She contributed with 11 goals and four assists, combining for 26 points which ranked second on the team. In addition, she ranked top-10 in the CAA in game-winning goals (1st), goals (2nd), points (t-2nd), goals per game (3rd), points per game (4th), assists (t-10th), while finishing ninth nationally in game-winning goals.
A total of 61 players were named to the 2019 MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List. Porter was one of two CAA players represented, along with James Madison’s Haley Crawford. Porter is also the first Pride player to be recognized by the MAC since All-American forward Leah Galton ’15 was selected as a semifinalist for the Herman Trophy during the 2015 season.
The MAC Hermann Trophy Watch Lists are compiled by members of the United Soccer Coaches Men’s and Women’s NCAA Division I All-America Committees. Fifteen semifinalists will be named for both the men’s and women’s MAC Hermann Trophy near the end of the college season based on voting by NCAA Division I coaches and from those candidates, three finalists will ultimately be placed on the ballot for the coveted award.
