NEW YORK — Former Red Bulls and Cosmos executive Erik Stover has a new challenge.

He has been named the head man of Match IQ, which has opened an office in the city, it was announced Monday.

Match IQ, a subsidiary of Constantin Medien AG, is a full-service sports event and consulting agency, specialized in the sporting preparation of professional teams and athletes as well as the organization and implementation of events and brand activation measures.

Match IQ Americas and FC Schalke 04 have agreed on a cooperation lasting several years, it also was announced.

“We are extremely proud to have won Erik to run our New York City office, bringing a wealth of experience, know-how and contacts to Match IQ and our clients,” said Nicholas MacGowan von Holstein, Match IQ’s founder and managing director. “With this new office, we will be able to provide our clubs with full service in North America, 365-days a year.”

With more than 20 years of sports and entertainment experience, Stover brings market knowledge as international clubs look to expand their brand in North America.

“The opportunity is very real here for clubs looking to grow,” Stover said. “What I’ve seen over the last decade or so is that the clubs that are fully committed to this market have grown tremendously. Our job will be to provide a full set of services year-round and not just for a few days every summer.”

Match IQ has implemented several tours to the United States and is official partner of the “Florida Cup”. Match IQ has organized tours to the USA for Ajax Amsterdam, Eintracht Frankfurt, VfL Wolfsburg, FC St. Pauli and several other teams.
