Allie Long’s hotel room in Los Angeles has been burglarized.
The U.S. women’s national team midfielder and Northport, N.Y. midfielder had her wedding ring, cash and the key to New York City stolen at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel while the team was being honored at the ESPYs Wednesday night.
Long and her teammates were celebrating their win in the Women’s World Cup in France.
“After the @ESPYS show someone stole my wedding ring, cash and the key to my favorite city after just receiving it from my hotel room,” Long posted on Twitter. “Do you make copies @NYCMayor ? I would love a new one.”
Long, 31, was a standout soccer player at Northport High School. She played for the Northport/Cow Harbor and Albertson Soccer Clubs in the Long Island Junior Soccer League and attended Penn State University and the University of North Carolina.
She is expected to return to Reign SC next week to resume her National Women’s Soccer League season.
Long was one of two Long Island players on the USWNT team as Rockville Centre, N.Y.’s Crystal Dunn, a defender, also was on the squad.
