UNIONDALE, N.Y. — The Cosmos had their 22-game regular-season unbeaten streak snapped as they played the Brooklyn Italians to a scoreless draw in National Premier Soccer League action Wednesday night.
It was the first time the Cosmos (12-0-1, 37 points) dropped points this season as the Italians (30) moved to 9-1-3.
Both sides had several opportunities to score at the Mitchel Athletic Complex.
Midfielder-forward Naeem Charles, who played for Long Island University Brooklyn, made his Cosmos debut.
Goalkeeper Paul Blanchette recorded the clean sheet for New York.
The Cosmos will play their final regular-season home game when they host Kingston Stockade FC at Mitchel Saturday at 7 p.m.
The NPSL playoffs start next week.
