ROCHESTER, N.Y. — It looks like Rochester Lady Lancers won’t be going to the United Women’s Soccer playoffs.

The Lady Lancers were all but eliminated from contention in the East Conference as they dropped a 5-2 decision to the first-place New England Mutiny, 5-2, at Charles A. Schiano Field at Aquinas Institute on Sunday.

The result left Rochester (8 points) with a 2-4-2 record while New England (23) improved to 7-0-2.

The Lady Lancers will close out their third season with back-to-back road games next week. They will play at New Jersey Copa FC on Saturday, July 6 and then at the Lancaster Inferno on Sunday, July 7.

In the second game of the Aquinas doubleheader on Sunday, the Lancers men’s squad took on Erie Commodores FC in a National Premier Soccer League encounter at 5 p.m.
