He might not have been good enough for New York City FC head coach Dome Torrent, but apparently Jonathan Lewis is good enough for Gregg Berhalter and the U.S. national team.

On Sunday, the national team coach added Colorado Rapids forward Jonathan Lewis to the training camp roster ahead of USA-Jamaica on June 5 at Audi Field in Washington, D.C.

The addition brought the squad to 29 players.

NYCFC traded Lewis to the Rapids May 8 in exchange for $650,000 Targeted Allocation Money and up to an additional $100,000 TAM based on performance criteria and an international spot in 2020.

Having debuted for the USMNT in January, Lewis has played in all four matches in 2019, collecting two assists along the way.

With the roster deadline for the 2019 Gold Cup due at midnight on June 5, the friendly against Jamaica will serve as the last evaluation before the final 23-player list is submitted to Concacaf.

Kickoff of the USMNT’s first visit to Audi Field in Washington, D.C. is set for 7 p.m. ET, with live coverage on FS1, UniMas and UDN.
