The Rochester Lancers and Lady Lancers open their respective seasons at home Sunday.

The Lady Lancers will will host Syracuse DA in their United Women’s Soccer opener at Aquinas Institute in Rochester, N.Y. at 2 p.m.

That encounter will be followed by the Rochester Lancers’ National Premier Soccer League season-opener at 5 p.m.

Game activities include a Bouncehouse, facepainting, t-shirt tosses and more.

Local Star Amanda Ashley to sing the national anthem at the Lady Lancers game, and “The Voice” Star Austin Giorgio to sing at the men’s match.

Nicole Hercules has joined the Lady Lancers as an assistant Coach. Hercules is a local soccer role model as executive director of the Rochester City Soccer League and president of Rochester Soccer School.

Returning Lady Lancers players include: Kenna Kosinki, Catie Broderick, Elin Eklund, Dori Rizzo, Elysia Masters, Dylan Patterson, Luca Fahmer, Taylor Wingerden, Hanna and Abbey Callaghan, Tenysha Taylor and Jada Sargaent.

Head coach Doug Miller and assistant coach Adam Schwartz announced that the team signed goalkeeper Andrew Coughlin. He is a former Syracuse Silver Knight, and just ended this past indoor season playing for Utica City FC and advanced the team to the Major Arena Soccer League divisional playoffs.

Returning Lancers players include: Will Banahene, Rafa Godoi, Domenico Vitale, Wyatt Scott, Michael Cunningham, Anthony Rozzano, Darren Toby, Lukas Fernandes, Alex Harling, Austin Gerber, Enrique, Isaac Kissi, Zikret Osmic, Jordan Sullivan, Dan Reger, Jake Schindler and Mitchell Brickman.
