BRADENTON, Fla. – After securing a berth to the 2019 FIFA Under-17 World Cup with a 3-0 win over Panama, the U.S. will set its sights on claiming the 2019 Concacaf U-17 Championship.
The Americans face Canada in a rematch of the teams’ tournament opener in the semifinals at IMG Academy at 5:30 p.m. ET Tuesday.
With a win, the U.S. would advance to its 10th confederation final at this age level.
In the first game between the two neighboring countries, the Americans rallied from a 2-0 halftime deficit for a 3-2 comeback victory.
Since its opener against Canada, the U.S. has not trailed and the team hasn’t allowed a goal in its last 306 minutes of play, winning five consecutive tournament games.
Canada finished second in Group F, defeating Curacao 4-0 in the Round of 16. In the quarterfinals, Canada drew 1-1 with Costa Rica, but saw off the Central American side on penalty kicks to book its first ticket to the U-17 World Cup since 2013.
The semifinal will be broadcast live at 5:30 p.m. ET on Univision Deportes Network and Concacaf Facebook. The match at IMG Academy will be open to the public.
