North Carolina Courage midfielder Crystal Dunn has voted the National Women’s Soccer League player of the month for April by the NWSL Media Association, it was announced Thursday.
A native of Rockville Centre, N.Y. and a former member of the Albertson Soccer Club, Dunn helped the Courage to a 2-0-1 record in April.
She leads the league in goals scored with four in three matches. She contributed a brace in the Courage’s April 17 game against the Orlando Pride while scoring once against both the Chicago Red Stars April 14 and the Houston Dash April 28.
Dunn also has one assist.
Eight of her 13 shots have been on target, a shot on goal percentage that is more than 60 percent. She has started each match and has played 253 total minutes. In 2018, Dunn recorded eight goals and seven assists.
This is the third time that Dunn has been named NWSL player of the month in her career. She first earned the honor in 2015. Dunn was named the player of the month for a second time last season after scoring two goals and creating eight chances in June 2018.
