MONTCLAIR, N.J. — Red Bull II scored twice within a 14-minute span in the second half to rally for a 2-1 comeback win over Indy Eleven at MSU Soccer Park Sunday.

The hosts improved to 5-1-1 and 16 points in the USL Championship while Indy (13) fell to 4-2-0.

Dane Kelly, off a Macauley King long ball had given the visitors a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute before a crowd of 542.

“We unfortunately take a goal against the run a play and then what we were able to stay composed,” NYRBII head coach John Wolyniec said.

“It just took to the second half for us to break through. Then I think we, at that point we kind of knew that, there’s a good chance that we’re going to get a couple more chances.”

Jared Stroud started the comeback with his third goal of the season, converting a penalty kick in the 60th minute. Vincent Bezecourt, a member of the Red Bulls’ first team, drew the foul as he was taken down in the box.

Tom Barlow tallied his seventh goal of the season in the 70th minute, tying him for the USL Championship lead. Bezecourt became the NYRBII career leader in assists, with 14th career helper on Barlow’s goal.

“Vince played a nice ball and I had a little bit of time,” Barlow said. “But, I don’t think it was as much time as I did against Loudoun to think about it. So, it made it a little easier and I’m glad it went in and we got the win.”

NYRB II will resume its homestand Wednesday at 7 p.m., hosting Birmingham Legion FC at at MSU Soccer Park.
