HOWELL, N.J. – Sky Blue FC Saturday added former Rutgers University midfielder Kenie Wright, the 29th pick in the 2019 National Women’s Soccer League draft, to the team’s roster.

As per team and league polices, terms of the contract were not announced.

“I am so thankful to be signing with Sky Blue FC,” Wright said. “It has been a dream of mine to play at this level since I was a kid. Thank you to my family, friends and everyone at Rutgers for being so supportive along the way. So happy to be a part of this team!”

Added head coach Denise Reddy: “Kenie has had a solid pre-season and has been a great spark to our squad. She is a multi-positional player and a consistent worker who brings energy day-in and day-out.”

Wright, 21, recorded 2 goals and 17 assists in 88 appearances with Rutgers.

In her senior year, Wright was named a 2018 All-Big Ten selection and was the Sportsmanship Award honoree.
