MONTCLAIR, N.J. — Red Bull II overcame a one-goal deficit to register a 3-2 victory over Memphis 901 FC in United Soccer League Championship action at MSU Soccer Park Friday night.

NYRBII (7 points) improved to 2-0-1 while Memphis (4) fell to 1-2-1, 4 points).

Memphis 901 FC took the lead in the 11th minute on Adam Najem’s score, which was answered by three consecutive goals by NYRB II.

Seven minutes later, Jared Stroud tallied his first goal of the season, after scoring seven goals in his rookie season. Ben Mines also recorded his first assist of the year on Stroud goal.

Tom Barlow and Derrick Etienne Jr. scored their first goals of the season a minute into first-half stoppage and in the 56th minute, respectively, as the hosts grabbed a 3-1 advantage.

Marc Burch closed the gap for the visitors with a goal in the 61st minute.

Kyle Zajec made his first appearance of the season, coming on in the 68th minute. It was his first appearance for NYRB II since 2015.

NYRB II will take to the road when it faces Birmingham Legion FC Saturday, April 6 at 8 p.m. ET.
