GARDEN CITY, N.Y. — The Cosmos kept their shutout streak going, but could not score for the first time this preseason as they played Adelphi University to a scoreless draw at Motamed Field Tuesday night.

New York, which moved to 2-0-1 for the preseason, has recorded three successive clean sheets this preseason, including 4-0 wins over Hofstra University and Queens College.

The visitors dominated the opening half hour, enjoying possession for most of the time, but could not solve the Panthers’ defense.

Adelphi came out with renewed vigor in the second half, but could not find a goal itself.

Next on tap for the Cosmos is a meeting with the LIU Brooklyn team at Mitchel Athletic Complex in Uniondale, N.Y. Friday, April 5 at 11 a.m.

The Cosmos kick off their National Premier Soccer League season against the New York Athletic Club at Mitchell Saturday, April 27 at 7 p.m.
