MONTCLAIR, N.J. — Brian White scored in the 55th minute to lift Red Bull II to a 1-1 draw with Nashville SC in United Soccer League at MSU Scocer Park Sunday.

NYRBII (1-0-1, 4 points) fell behind in the first half as Nashville’s Daniel Rio cashed in on an errant back pass, beating goalkeeper Evan Louro.

“We give up a goal that is a little tough to take but at the end of the day those plays happen,” head coach John Wolyniec said.

White equalized at 1-1, heading home a cross from Marcus Epps for his goal first of the season. Epps earned his second assist of the season after recording a goal and an assist.

“It was good for us to get out there,” White said. “It’s kind of a new group of guys playing together. We don’t always train together so it was good for us to kind of work through it today, especially in the first half. I think the second half was a lot better in terms of what we want to accomplish.”

Defender Edgardo Rito made his NYRB II debut. The 23-year-old Venezuelan signed with the club prior to the start of the season.

“I thought he did well,” Wolyniec said. “Showed some energy, showed a willingness to go forward, showed some good individual defending. He’s still new, so the tactics are still a work in progress but, overall, I thought he had a good effort. I know he was a little frustrated after the game. I think he felt that he could have made a difference in the game because he got into some really good spots. At the end of the day, I thought he was good, he was a positive for sure.”

NYRB II hosts Memphis 901 FC Friday at 7 p.m.
