HOWELL, N.J. – Sky Blue FC has hired high performance coach Morgan Hofacker and strength and conditioning coach Christopher Ascari, rounding out head coach Denise Reddy’s technical staff for the National Women’s Soccer League season.

Hofacker joined Sky Blue FC from Perseverance Strength and Conditioning, where she served as a strength coach, implementing training programs on an individual and team level.

Hofacker earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science at Rutgers University and a second B.S. degree in Food and Nutrition from the University of Alabama. She is enrolled in Rutgers’ graduate program in Kinesiology and Applied Physiology.

She also served as the director of operations for the Rutgers women’s swimming and diving team and was also a graduate student researcher. Her duties as a researcher included assisting in performance testing for the Rutgers’ student athletes, monitoring the workload of the athletes during training, analyzing data and providing feedback to coaches and assisting with multiple ongoing funded research studies.

Ascari brings to Sky Blue 26 years of fitness and strength training experaince. He owns and operates his own gym, called CrossFit Versus, where he has coached semi-professional and professional athletes, as well as law enforcement and military personnel.

He worked for Brookdale Community College as a member of their fitness department and as a post-rehab specialist for Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

Ascari was a professional fighter trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Filipino martial arts and competitive Muay Thai.

As the Official East Coast Representative for IMB Academy, Ascari now works alongside Richard Bustillo, one of the original students of Bruce Lee.

Sky Blue’s opening match of the NWSL season will be at the Washington Spirit at Maryland SoccerPlex April 13. Its the home opener will be against the Houston Dash at Yurcak Field Saturday, April 20.
