The Cosmos announced Wednesday the return of goalkeeper coach Steven Diaz.
He will enter his fifth season with the club in that role.
“I’m excited to be back for my fifth season with the club,” Diaz said. “I’m looking forward to getting on the field and working with our goalkeepers.”
Diaz joined the club as a player in the 2014 season when he served as the backup goalkeeper to Jimmy Maurer and Kyle Zobeck before taking over a coaching position in 2015.
During his time with the club, the Cosmos won two championships in the North American Soccer League and Cosmos B earned the North Atlantic Conference title in 2018 after a 10-0-0 regular season in National Premier Soccer League play.
“We’re very happy to have Steven back with our staff,” Cosmos head coach Carlos Mendes said. “He’s someone who knows our club very well and was a vital part of our success over the years.”
The Cosmos will compete in the NPSL in the spring and summer and in the NPSL Founders Cup from August through November.
