HARRISON, N.J. – Red Bull II added Venezuelan right back Edgardo Rito on loan from Venezuelan side Fundacion Yaracuyanos FC, the United Soccer League club announced Wednesday.
Rito has received his P-1 visa and joined NYRB II for preseason camp in Tucson, Ariz.
Rito, 23, has appeared in 23 matches with 1,941 minutes across all competitions in Venezuela. The defender played in 15 Torneo Calusura matches and six Torneo Apertura matches in Venezuela’s first division. Rito most recently performed for Metropolitanos FC during the 2018 Torneo Clausura season, starting four matches.
“Rito is a player that impressed us with his pace and athleticism,” Red Bull II head coach John Wolyniec said. “He has shown an ability to be really aggressive both defensively and offensively, and our staff is excited to get a chance to work with him.”
Rito made his first-team debut with Mineros de Guayana in 2016 as a 20-year-old. During the 2016 Torneo Clausura season, he started the final 11 matches and helped anchor a backline to two clean sheets.
