As they prepare for their stretch run to reach the Major Arena Soccer League 2 playoffs, the Rochester Lancers bolstered their attack by signing forward Will Stone.

Stone led the outdoor Lancers in goal-scoring the past two National Premier Soccer League seasons.

With four games remaining in the regular season, the Lancers (5-3) sit in second place in the Eastern Conference trailing the first-place Chicago Mustangs (7-1). With Chicago holding such a huge lead, the Lancers are battling the Detroit Waza Flo (4-4) and the Cincinnati Swerve (3-5) for the final postseason spot in the division. Two teams will qualify for the playoffs.

Stone will wear No. 9 for the indoor Lancers.

Rochester will be in action next week. The team visits the Muskegon Risers Friday, Feb. 22 at 7:15 p.m. before taking on the Mustangs Saturday, Feb. 23 at 5:05 p.m.

The Lancers return home for their final regular-season weekend in March as they welcome Detroit to the Dome Arena Friday, March 8 and Muskegon Saturday, March 9. Both games kick off at 7 p.m.

Those two matches at the IDE Family Field are sold out already, giving the club six sellouts in as many games this season.
