U.S. men’s national team defender Greg Garza has departed training camp in Chula Vista, Calif. after being diagnosed with a low-grade quadriceps strain, it was announced Thursday.

The 27-year-old left back will return to FC Cincinnati for treatment.

Garza will not be replaced on the roster, which stands at 27 players.

The USMNT opens its 2019 schedule against Panama Sunday, Jan. 27 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. (8 p.m. ET; ESPN2, UniMás, UDN) before closing camp against Costa Rica Saturday, Feb. 2 at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, Calif. (3:30 p.m. ET; FOX, UniMás, UDN).
