CHICAGO – Sky Blue FC has acquired the sixth pick in the first-round of the National Women’s Soccer League college draft and the highest second-round pick in the 2020 draft from the Chicago Red Stars in exchange for forward Katie Johnson.
Johnson, 24, joined Sky Blue FC at the start of the 2018 season, recording four goals and two assists in 19 appearances.
Sky Blue FC owns eight picks in the draft, including the Nos. 2, 3, 6, 10, 11, 19, 28 and 34 choices.
The 2019 NWSL draft will take place Thursday, Jan. 10, at the United Soccer Coaches Convention at McCormick Place here.
