It’s a week to the opening kickoff and the Rochester Lancers already have one sellout and are close to another.

The Major Arena Soccer League 2 team announced Friday that its season-opening match against the Detroit Waza Flo at the Dome Arena Friday, Jan. 4 had been sold out. Only standing room tickets are available for the game.

The Lancers are close to selling out their second game on Saturday, Jan. 5 against the Cincinnati Swerve as only 100 tickets are left.

Both games are set for 7 p.m. ET.

The venue is a 4,086-seat arena with 2,164 permanent seats.

Rochester returns to indoor soccer for the first time since the 2014-15 season.

Lancers owner Fantauzzo might have an update or two about the indoor team on his weekly radio show, Kick This!, which is on WHAM-AM 1280 Saturdays from 11 a.m.-noon ET, although there will be a second hour added tomorrow.
