John Wolyniec made his mark as a goal-scorer at several levels of the game.
Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association inducted three new members into its Hall of Fame Saturday night.
The presidents of the organization’s largest leagues, Long Island Junior Soccer League’s Anthony Maresco and East Hudson Youth Soccer League’s Jim Purdy, and former professional player John Wolyniec, joined the Hall during ENY’s holiday party at Marina del Rey in the Bronx Saturday.
They joined a list of more than 100 Hall of Famers, both men and women, who all have made their own impacts and impressions in making soccer what it is in Eastern New York.
Wolyniec, a former scoring terror in Staten Island and Fordham University, brought his goal-scoring prowess to the professional ranks. He played with the MetroStars and Red Bulls and Columbus Crew SC in Major League Soccer. He currently coaches Red Bull II in the United Soccer League.
