The Rochester Lancers Tuesday will make it official on where they will play this coming Major Arena Soccer League 2 season, who the coach will be and some new signings.

Recently, Lancers patriarch Soccer Sam Fantauzzo gave a sneak preview of some of the signings on the Soccer is a Kick in the Grass Radio Show.

Two goalkeepers were definite — Marc Sotile and Marcelo Moreira, who played with the indoor Lancers before they went dormant after the 2014-15 MASL season. A third keeper, William Banahene, who backstopped the Lancers during the 2018 National Premier Soccer League season — “most likely” would sign,

“Doug Miller gave me a list today of guys he thinks will return and its a who’s who of indoor and outdoor Lancers,” Fantauzzo told the radio show on Monday, Nov. 5. “So we’re going to have three quality keepers with the Lancers indoor right now that look really good.”

Miller has coached the indoor and outdoor Lancers.

Several major announcements will be made at a press conference at IDE Volkswagen, one of the team’s title sponsors, in East Rochester, N.Y. at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

The Lancers will announce they will play at the Dome Arena in suburban Henrietta, N.Y., which Fantauzzo let out of the bag several weeks ago, its head coach, title sponsors and returning players.

“We have enjoyed a great partnership with the Rochester Lancers in the past and we are happy to be able to continue this collaboration,” said Rich Ide, owner of Ide Family of Dealerships. “Ide Dealerships believes it is important to support teams that help our community grow.  It’s truly priceless for our youth to have access to highly skilled soccer players. Go Lancers!”
