NEW YORK – Sam Hatem scored two goals for Columbia University, which posted a 4-0 victory over the Hofstra University men at Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium Tuesday night.

The game was the regular-season finale for the Pride, which will host a Colonial Athletic Association quarterfinal game at Hofstra Soccer Stadium Saturday night.

Hofstra fell to 8-6-4, while Columbia improved to 9-4-1.

The Lions scored three first-half goals with Hatem getting Columbia on the board just 2:49 into the match. Hatem netted his second goal at 26:06 with Matthew Swain collecting the assist. The first half scoring continued at the 37:23 mark as Lucho Gazcon found the back of the net off a pass from Beto Carrillo.

Spiros Stamoulis converted Nick Marcin’s pass at 83:13.

Columbia goalkeeper Dylan Castanheira made four saves while Leo Arkhanhelskyi had four saves for the Pride.

Hofstra will be the No. 3 seed in the CAA Championship and host No. 6 Northeastern Saturday night at 7 p.m.
