WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The Monmouth University women cruised to its ninth consecutive victory with a 7-0 triumph over Iona College in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match on Senior night at Hesse Field on The Great Lawn Wednesday night.

The Hawks (14-3-1, 9-1-0) were led by Alli DeLuca’s hat-trick and Jazlyn Moya’s two-goal effort as they won their ninth consecutive game. Iona fell to 3-14-2 and 1-7-2.

Monmouth held a 1-0 halftime lead before scoring four times in the first 15 minutes after intermission. DeLuca put in her second goal 28 seconds into the period to spark the outburst before Dana Scheriff scored on a volley and Moya put home two, including a penalty kick to increase the lead to 6-0 in the 60th minute.

DeLuca scored three minutes later to complete her hat-trick and A’Liah Moore added a late score to run the final total to 7-0.

“Tonight was a terrific tribute to our senior class,” head coach Krissy Turner said. “All of them in their own way contributed to the success of our program on and off the field during their careers. We are excited to host a semifinal game next week on our home field.”

The Hawks will host a MAAC Tournament semifinal Thursday, Nov. 1 at 5 p.m. at Hesse Field on The Great Lawn.
