CHICAGO – The N.Y. Pancyprian Freedoms and Rochester Lancers 2 discovered their opponents in the third qualifying round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, it was determined at a draw Monday.

The Freedoms will host the West Chester Predators (Pa.) at a hime and place to be determined during the weekend of Nov. 17-18.

The Lancers 2, formerly the Rochester River Dogz, will weclome World Class Premier Elite FC (Md.) at Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, N.Y. Nov. 18 at 5 p.m.

U.S. Soccer held the draw at Soccer House to determine the match-ups for the next round.

All 14 games in the third qualifying round will be played Nov. 17-18 in venues across the country. The exact pairing for one Central Region matchup will be determined when Celtic Cowboys Premier and Motagua New Orleans face each other in a second qualifying round game, rescheduled to Nov. 11 due to saturated pitches after recent rainstorms in central Texas. The winner will host amateur power NTX Rayados.

Five of the clubs still alive reached the tournament’s first round in 2018. They include Christos FC (Md.), FC Denver (Colo.), NTX Rayados (Texas), Lancers 2 and Santa Ana Winds FC (Calif.). Other notable survivors include three-time U.S. Open Cup champion New York Pancyprian Freedoms (1980, 1982-83) and Cal FC (Calif.), who made a memorable run to the Round of 16 in 2012 by defeating Major League Soccer (Division I) side Portland Timbers.

The available number of berths into the first round of the 2019 U.S. Open Cup will be determined by the Open Cup Committee at a later date. If a fourth qualifying round is needed, it will be scheduled for either March 9-10 or April 6-7.
