MONTCLAIR, N.J. — Red Bull II defeated the Pittsburgh Riverhouds, 2-1, at MSU Soccer Park to secure the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference of the United Soccer League playoffs.

Tom Barlow and Jared Stroud scored to help New York (13-8-13, 52 points) extend its unbeaten streak to six games while completing its regular-season schedule Sunday.

The hosts opened the scoring in the 30th minute after Barlow nicked the ball off of the defender and finished into the bottom right corner. It was his eighth goal of the season in as many starts.

Goalkeeper Scott Levene, who made his fourth start of the season, dove to his left to save a penalty kick in the 71st minute.

Stroud added an insurance goal in the 90th minute after receiving a pass from Jose Aguinaga and sending a shot into the far corner from just inside the box for his seventh goal this season.

Pittsburgh (15-5-14, 59) grabbed one back four minutes into stoppage time off of a corner kick headed in by Joe Greenspan.

NYRB II finished the regular season tied for second in goals scored with 71.

The team also completed its home schedule with an 11-3-3 mark, second best in the conference.

Red Bulls II travel to South Carolina to meet the Charleston Battery in the quarterfinals playoffs at MUSC Health Stadium Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. ET.
