NEW YORK — The Baruch College men and Lehman College played a scoreless draw on at Randall’s Island Saturday morning.

The Bearcats clinched second place in the CUNY Athletic Conference standings and earned a quarterfinal round bye into the CUNYAC semifinals scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 27.

After the match, the team on Bearcats Appreciation Day honored 12 student-athletes – Alexey Arefev, Mateus Braga, Woodie Cheu, Javier Arellano Crespo, Stanley Goldberg, Jacob Gorodetsky, Bakary Kida, Ricardo Llanos, Christian Minich, Bryan Nunez, Kevin Zhagui and Jaime Zurro – in their final regular season home match for their service and dedication to the men’s soccer program.

The Bearcats outshot Lehman, 27-7, which included a 14-2 advantage in the second half and 4-0 in extratime, but could not break through with the goal.

Goalkeeper Kellen Sela recorded his second successive shutout with three saves. The Bearcats’ defense has allowed only two goals in its last four matches.

Lehman keeper Demiraldo Grunasi made 11 saves.
