MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The 10-men St. John’s University men dropped their second consecutive Big East game, falling to Marquette, 4-0, at Valley Fields Saturday night.

Luka Prpa, Josh Coan, Connor Alba and Lukas Sunesson scored for the Golden Eagles (4-7-1, 2-2-1). Despite the lopsided score, Marquette outshot the visitors, 14-12..

Goalkeeper Lenny Wilson made six saves for the Red Storm (6-6-1, 2-2-1). Marquette’s Luis Barraza also produced six saves, registering his fourth shutout of the season.

The two squads played even for a majority of the first half before Josh Coan tallied the Golden Eagles’ first goal in the 41st minute.

St. John’s started to swing the game’s momentum in the opening portion of the second half before a 65th-minute red card sent Tiago Teixeira to the bench and gave Marquette a penalty kick opportunity. Prpa converted for the Golden Eagles, bumping their lead to 2-0.

Alba struck again in the 73rd minute before Sunesson added the Golden Eagles’ final goal in the 83rd minute.

The Red Storm hosts DePaul University at Belson Stadium Saturday at 7 p.m.
