BRONX, N.Y. – The Lehman College dropped a heartbreaker losing 1-0 to the College at Old Westbury on a goal in the 84th minute in a non-conference match-up at South Field Sunday.

An encounter that had both sides even on shots at 7-7 with Lehman (5-7) having the advantage on target (4-3) and forcing Old Westbury (5-4-4) goalkeeper Mike Warren to make four saves.

With six minutes remaining in regulation, a turnover inside the Lightning’s 18-yard box gave way for the Panthers’ Edens Avril to score the game-winner past goalkeeper Demiraldo Grunasi.

Lehman returns to action for a crucial City University of New York Athletic Conference encounter at South Field against the College of Staten Island Wednesday at 5 p.m.
