WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Dana Scheriff scored twice to lead the Monmouth University women to a 4-1 win over Quinnipiac in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match at Hesse Field on The Great Lawn Saturday afternoon.

The Hawks (10-3-1, 5-1-0) have won five consecutive games and have outscored their opponents 17-1 during the streak.

Scheriff drew first blood in the 11th minute with a shot from the far sideline that found the inside netting on the far post. The Hawks added a second when A’Liah Moore tapped in a finish on the goal line.

Monmouth started the second half with goals less than a minute apart as Scheriff and Madie Gibson beat goalkeeper Olivia Myszewski.

Quinnipiac fell to 6-6-1, 3-2-1.

“I thought we had a great first half,” head coach Krissy Turner said. “The second half we lost our focus and discipline which allowed Quinnipiac to create a lot of chances. We have to be a 90 minute team every time we play.”

The Hawks travel to Marist College in a matchup of the top two teams in the MAAC Wednesday at 7 p.m.
