MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The St. John’s University women fell, 1-0, to Marquette University at Valley Fields in Big East action Sunday afternoon.

Alyssa Bombacino broke a scoreless deadlock in the 78th minute when the forward powered a 15-yard shot to the right side of the net.

St. John’s (5-7-0, 1-2-0) turned on the offensive pressure early in the match, outshooting the Golden Eagles (3-8-1, 1-2-0), 10-7 in the opening 45 minutes, leading 4-1 in shots on target. Overall, the Red Storm outshot the hosts, 20-19.

The Red Storm will welcome Providence College to Belson Stadium Thursday at 7 p.m.
