HARRISON, N.J. — Tyler Adams is expected to play for the Red Bulls at the San Jose Earthquakes next Saturday night.

The U.S. international midfielder sat out Sunday’s 2-0 home victory over Atlanta United due to tightness in his back,” according to head coach Chris Armas.

“It’s minor,” Armas said. “He has tightness in his back. It’s a back issue. He’s been training. We played this one very smart.

“We look after our guys the right way. We trust the medical staff. We take a lot of factors into account. Tyler’s ready to go. He’ll be ready to go.”

Adams is expected to be called up for the U.S. national team’s next two international matches during the FIFA break in October.
